The Time You Make

You know when life is moving and things start to feel routinely predictable? All a girl can really do then, is keep her face looking toward the sun and strap on a pair of boots to brave the world in. Honestly, I'm afraid to count the number of texts I receive in a day, to remember how many times I've had to rain check on an old friend, because "work ran late". Once, when I had been feeling a little stuck, a little like the city had swallowed me whole, someone I loved whose words I instantly trust, looked me straight in the eyes, right in the middle of things, and gave me the best advice about time, and life, and how the two can pass by if you don't - well, recognize.

Time, is something you make. Not something you find.

And, here I am, asking myself in the morning if there's more to life than just what I've uncovered so far. The answer, that I didn't have to look very far to find is yes. There is everything I've ever wanted, out there, waiting for me to scoop it up.

If,

I'm willing to take the chance, say yes when I'm tempted to stay closed, and remember that every adventure, no matter how small it may be, first starts from within.

So, first thing on my bucket list, is to travel as much as possible, even if it's a weekend getaway with friends or an impromptu roadtrip. There's everywhere to go and so much to explore. And, while it may be true that I'm a city girl at heart, I do love a good hike. Especially, if I know that a local brew is my reward.

If I don't take a chance, I don't have a chance. Repeat.
