Most of the time, I run towards the sun, chasing adventure, catching light like a firefly. Eyes open. Heart open, too.
I crave change, I want more, wake up to wonder what I can really do to stretch each day, and make even the smallest, nearly unnoticeable moments count. To remember that life is short but it is wide and this too shall pass. A Ya-Ya cardinal rule I try earnestly not to forget. A lot like, my return to love and the knowing that
if light is something you seek, light is exactly what you'll find.
And, as promised, when you do finally get a hold of it; when the sunlight follows you around, and you're living your life like it's golden;
taking my freedom,
pulling it off the shelf,
putting it on my chain,
wear it around my neck.
Damn, will it just feel really good. So good, that you won't want to let it go. Just like his hands, early in the morning before the world tells you both who you're meant to be. The old family photograph you salvaged from your grandmothers basement or a good book with an inscription that reminds you of your first, then last love. Maybe you catch the sun in one hand and have a glass of wine and some spare time, in the other.
Either way, just remember,
the sky is always blue, and it ain't a ceiling, at all. So, do your best to stay ready and always keep some Marc Jacobs shades in your back pocket, because there's so much sun to look forward to.
